Leaving Social Media

The notion of leaving social media, I think not only scares certain people but confuses them as well. We all have and use social media and I don't think leaving them is something we ever consider. But after thinking long and hard, I have decided that I will be leaving it. But not for good. At least not yet. Just for a certain amount of time every now and then, to see how it goes. To see how it affects my life. It's something I have planned to do for quite some time now. And I believe it will benefit me in certain ways. I think everyone should consider trying it as well. But the important thing is realizing why, how and when we all should leave social media, and in what aspects. Undoubtedly, we have become reliant on these apps and updates. It seems normal, it seems harmless and it can be harmless, but it can also be detrimental to the way we view life in reality, outside of this access to the internet. If you are a spiritual person trying to meditate or simply just a person l...

Modern Day Slavery

Note : This article was written based on a Youtube video I found pertaining to the same topic. The information obtained from the video are written here in hopes that some would find it helpful or useful, and who knows, perhaps it can change lives. Credit goes to the video owner. We currently live in a time unlike any other. Technology is changing at an ever evolving rate, making things like lifespan and health itself more accessible to most of the world, as well as bringing our cultures and societies, for the most part, together as one. We are slowly but surely unifying into a very utopian species. But this westernization and growing global society also tends to be taking its toll mainly on our income. Income inequality is skyrocketting at a rate it never has before in known human history. And this effectibly is leaving the average family and the average citizen low on money, and essentially hung out to dry. And because of this income inequality, almost all people are being forced in...

That's What's Up

Hello, dear blog. Long time no see. My last post was in March 2016 so it's fair to say I kind of neglected you there. Not that I have any obligation towards you, but I miss you nontheless. So, the reason I haven't been posting anything lately is because I just couldn't find time for it. With work and kids and stuff, I simply find it difficult to actually sit down and write. Anyway, where do I even begin? Just a little heads up. This will be a long-winded post, as I normally cover stories or events that I consider to be the highlights of my life or noteworthy, and since I haven't posted anything in a while, I'd like to pick up where I left off. THE RUN Last year I was actively jogging. Well, not exactly jogging, but walking (though I no longer do it this year and I know I need to immediately get back on it). At the time, it didn't matter where my current location was, I would take long walks of up to 3-5 kilometers whenever I get the chance to do so. At h...

I Came, I Saw, I Mumble..

The lights went out. Total silence. Then the 'opening crawl' appears from the bottom of the screen almost in perfect synchronization with the loud intro of that familiar orchestral composition. The yellow texts float upwards and away into the black backdrop of space. It was the new Star Wars movie : The Force Awakens! This is one of quite a few updates and events that had taken place during my absence here. My last post was May last year, around the time when my baby Elissa was born. So what's new? Let's see. Malaysian Association Of Hotels, the company I work for organized it's signature event, Culinaire Malaysia and it went exceptionally well. Shortly after, we flew to Cambodia for our annual budget presentation/staff trip. The year end dinner took place at Impiana KLCC Hotel, which was great. Food was amazing. Then as the new year came, in February, I officially said goodbye to the finance/account department and was transferred to become the admin assistant. Th...

Elissa

It was 6.00pm, 13 May 2015. The evening was beginning to turn dark and cloudy. We were in a private hospital that sits among a row of shoplots in Sungai Buloh. It was the Putra Medical Centre. My wife had just been brought to the labor room. I was tagging along, full of uncertainty in my mind. I was worried for her, worried for the baby, worried that the doctor had to attend to another woman in labor right in the other room because the woman and my wife just had to give birth at the same time. The nurse kept saying "please hold on. Whatever you do, do not push until the doctor gets here" as if it was the easiest thing to do. My wife was feeling more and more pain by the minute, and these 2 nurses stood there chit-chatting with each other loudly like it's nobody's business. I kept my cool at first, keeping in mind that I was never the fussy type. God forbid, I am NOT one of those. But as every contraction came about, my wife loses her ability to withstand the pain, a...

My song titled IRIS

Here I am again. Happy with a newly written song titled Iris . Just to be clear, this song is meant for both my son and daughter despite the title which resembles my daughter's name, Airis. Of course the inspiration came strong amidst the birth of my daughter, and that I honestly can't find another cool title for it, but I'm happy to admit that this song is especially dedicated to both children. So this song was composed by me, each and every instrument was played by me, sung by me and the lyrics were written by me as well. I think it's safe to say now that I will now embark on this musical journey by myself. Composing music and having them recorded as a hobby as I called it, will now be and have been for quite some time a lone venture. I guess I can't say I didn't see it coming. All this while I had my former schoolmate and good friend, Epul by my side making music together but all in all, it wasn't meant to last. I used to tell him that I am more than ...

An evening thought...

As sure as the sun rises in the east and sets in the west, so is my untimely entry to this blog. I know I'm sure to post something here, but I never know when. Wait, I don't see how that relates, but yeah. As long as I can pointlessly mumble about whatever nonsense that comes through my mind, I'll keep on going. So what's new? Let's see, I'm scheduled to record my next song next week. It's about my daughter and son. I'm still trying to come up with a title. I had just got back from a company trip to Bali. My daughter is 7 months old now. And get this, two days ago my wife found out that she might be pregnant again! We are yet to do some further checking at a clinic to confirm this. But how surer can you get, right? I have to admit, I was very shocked in disbelief at first. This wasn't planned for, and I honestly didn't think it was possible that she could get pregnant again this quick. My wife kinda turned away in disappointment seeing my reacti...
