My Sony A7C - 1 Year Review

I bought the world's smallest and lightest full frame mirrorless camera, the Sony A7C about a year ago, on 16 August 2021. This camera was meant to be an upgrade to my Canon G7X MII which I use for vlogging. So here is my 1 year review of this camera. Well, not really a comprehensive review. Just my experience and opinion having used it for 1 whole year. A lot of people are divided with this camera. People complain a lot about it, especially the professionals. The truth is, professionals are not part of Sony's target market with this camera. Let's break it down.  The three most common sensor sizes with interchangeable lens system cameras are micro four thirds (small), APSC (medium) and full frame (large). Now, professionals will almost always go for full frame due to its large sensor which yields better quality, more detail, better low light capability and better bokeh (background blur) to name a few. Consumers, hobbyists and enthusiasts will typically avoid full frame an...

The Art Of Vlogging And Where It's Heading

What is a blog? More so, what is a vlog? I am fulfilled and satisfied after having produced a video every week for the last 4 years. It made me happy and boosted my confidence. But what is the endgame here? Where is the finish line and what would it look like? I sure love the journey but am genuinely curious as to where this is heading. When it comes to vlogging, I do have set goals which I strive for. My view on the art went from curious to passionate to obsessive and now, sustained and maintained. I’m not sure where this journey will take me but I’m pretty sure it evolves with time. There’s really no way to tell where we would end up, for better or worse. I learned a lot through this experience. I spent a lot as well. I invested in quality gear. I invested a lot of time into researching, shooting and editing. And none of these I regret. In fact I value this experience and I enjoy the whole process of making a video. These videos may sometimes seem boring and mundane, but to ...

Hello, Blog. We Meet Again!

It's been a while since I last wrote here. Where do I even start? My last entry to this site was in December 2020. A lot of stuff happened since then. I'll try to cover the notable ones that I can remember.  After more than 4 years of planning and anticipating, me and the family finally moved to the new house. Moving is not easy. And through my experience and a few others' as well, there's no amount of planning that can guarantee a problem-free transition. We had a few bumps here and there but overall, the whole process went kinda smooth. Although we moved in December last year, we still had to live at the old house throughout January and February 2022. Due to Covid, school semesters end in February the following year instead of the usual December. So we find ourselves spending our weekdays at the old house and only going back to the new house on weekends. During our stay here at the old house, we have to endure the absence of a washing machine, TV and beds. We all slee...

2020. A Curse Or A Blessing?

With the Covid-19 pandemic spreading across the globe, causing countless countries to shut down, Malaysia is no exception. We implemented the Movement Control Order (MCO) on 18 March. Cases of infection went up, then it went down. But then it went back up again and from the looks of it, this damn virus isn't going away anytime soon. Before we know it, the year is closing to an end.   This is the first time humans have encountered such a threat. We've had our fair share of infectious diseases throughout history but never to this extent. We will be talking about this event for many generations to come. It effected everyone and everything especially the economy. A lot of companies went out of business. A lot of hotels shut down for good as the country closes its borders. So many people lost their jobs and for those who get to keep them, they had to work from home. Thank god I didn't lose my job but I had to work from home for 2 months straight, starting from March until May. W...

There Is No Way I Was Born To Just Pay Bills And Die

I have been working steady jobs for almost 12 years now. Prior to that I was unemployed, messing around with friends, partying, loitering and just living life in vain. I should be happy now, right? Wrong. I mean, I AM happy being a family man and all, but i detest at the very idea of having to be at an office 9 hours a day, 5 days a week, for the rest of my miserable life serving a cause that I don't believe is ideal to me. I understand that everybody needs to work in order to survive. We all need to work to earn money to pay for our food, shelter, healthcare, security and such. However, by doing so, I don't believe we were meant to become 'slaves' in the process 9 hours a day may sound like a short amount of time considering there are 24 hours in a day. Exclude the 7 hour bedtime, you practically spend the whole day working and by the time you get home, you're left with just a few hours to spare before you hit the sack. So you spend your life working from Monday to...

Same Old Thing

On 8 December 2019, I released a song and for the first time in my life, I made a music video to go with it. And the feedback, love and support i received from it were overwhelming. 80 views in 1 hour, 300 views in 24 hours and currently, after 2 months, the viewcount is in the 700 ballpark. This doesn't happen with my previous songs. Some have reached this number but never that quick. This simply goes to show that apart from the quality of the song itself, video plays a prominent role in engaging viewers' attention, even if the main content is the audio. Music video is new territory for me. I have been doing research on it since a couple of years ago and finally got to realize the vision through this song. The song was written in 2017 but i kept it away and it was put on hold as I was working on my previous project, the rap song called Dunia . Then right after releasing the rap song, I started vlogging. Vlogging had my full attention for two good years until the music bug...

Life Update 4/9/2019

So it's been 1 year since I last posted here. My last post was on 2 August 2018. Ever since I started vlogging, I kind of left everything else including blogging and writing/recording new songs. Only 2 months ago did I start to shift my attention back on music. Yes, I am in the midst of producing a new song. Still in the recording phase, and will then proceed with making the music video for it. For the first time ever, I will be releasing a new song which comes with a music video. I am really excited about it. Although I have zero percent experience in making a music video, I just can't wait to learn and explore this new territory and observe the outcome. Speaking of music videos, I have plans to start this huge project where I produce music videos for all my previous songs as well, and re-release them on my vlog channel on Youtube. But enough about that, though. Until the project starts to take shape, it simply remains just another 'plan'. So I have been vlogging for...
